 Vitamin A acetate

"Vitamin A acetate" and "Vitamin A palmitate" are both vitamin A additives and are mostly used in feed and cosmetics. The pure compound of vitamin A is retinol, which is easily destroyed. Therefore, its stability is increased by some chemical treatment procedures. The first step is to first esterify it. "Esterification" is beneficial to the stability of vitamin A additives. The organic acids that esterify vitamin A, commonly used are acetic acid, propionic acid and palmitic acid. Therefore, there are different vitamin A additives such as vitamin A acetate and vitamin A palmitate. The activity of vitamin A is expressed in "International Units (IU)". Due to the different molecular weights of the organic acids used in esterification, the corresponding weight of one IU is also different. Vitamin A additives are mostly made of vitamin A acetate, and more vitamin A palmitate is used.
