Magnesium oxide is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula MgO, which is an oxide of magnesium. It is a white solid at room temperature. Magnesium oxide exists in nature in the form of periclase and is a raw material for magnesium smelting. Magnesium oxide has high refractory insulating properties. It can be transformed into crystals after high temperature burning above 1000°C, and it becomes dead-burned magnesia (magnesia) or sintered magnesia when it rises to 1500 - 2000°C.

2. Fireproof. As a building material, magnesium oxide wallboard has several attractive properties: fireproof, termite-proof, moisture-proof, mildew-proof and strength.
3. Magnesium oxide is widely used in soil and groundwater remediation, wastewater treatment, drinking water treatment, air emission treatment and waste treatment industries due to its acid buffering capacity and related efficacy of stable dissolution of heavy metal substances.
4. It can also be used as a raw material for the manufacture of ceramics, enamel, refractory bricks, etc.
5. In the chemical industry, magnesium oxide is used as a raw material to produce magnesium sulfate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium chloride, etc.
6. In the food industry, magnesium oxide can be used as a decolorizer when refining sugar, a pH adjuster for ice cream powder, and an anti-caking agent and antacid in wheat flour, milk powder, chocolate, cocoa powder, grape powder, powdered sugar and other agents.
